Dovecote Park
Dovecote Park Ltd is a privately owned business situated over two sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We pride ourselves on processing the best in British beef, veal and venison and thoroughly enjoy working alongside like-minded producers with exceptional standards. Ultimately, we believe our producers are a reflection on the high-quality consistent products we develop.
Alongside our retailers we have set our sustainability objectives for forth coming years. Specifically, to achieve Net Zero by 2035. We fully appreciate that this directly affects our producers therefore providing projects such as the Defra Nue Leg 11 is incredibly important to provide a wider level of knowledge in an ever-evolving subject. We believe that sustainability on a farm level incorporates greenhouse gas emissions alongside a lot more. We want to ensure that as a business we are involved in new innovative projects that are at the forefront of the industry.
The DEFRA Nue Leg 11 project offers the opportunity to be involved with scientific expertise and industry leaders in their own right. This project gives the opportunity to trial naturally genetically modified legumes in a commercial farm setting with the overall aim of reducing the necessity for artificial fertilisers whilst providing a protein source for ruminants. We have three beef farmers involved in the project these are located in the Southwest and Wales that have taken on the project and are currently growing plots over specific areas.
Our overall aim for the project is to provide knowledge exchange with from our three farms in addition to the other 11 farms involved in the project to a wider scope of producers and industry stakeholders.
Over the past 11 months we have seen the level of dedication and focus given to this project. We look forward to seeing the projects future progression over the next three years.key player in driving forward the agricultural innovation needed to meet future demands and challenges.
