This year, Germinal proudly celebrates 200 years of innovation in grass and forage seed. We develop sustainable grassland varieties and supply premium agricultural seed to the UK, Irish, and New Zealand markets, also serving the professional amenity sector.

Germinal Horizon

Germinal has research and innovation at its core. Its research and innovation team – Germinal Horizon – comprises scientists at the world-leading grassland research centre at Aberystwyth University’s Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) in Wales, and on its own R&D farm sites.

Germinal Horizon has a long-term focus on innovation in forage management and plant breeding with the objective of developing products that enhance agricultural productivity and profitability consistent with today’s climate challenges.
