Gelli Goll Farm

Gelli Goll Farm is located near Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan. The farm is run by Mark Jarvis and his daughter, Beth Jarvis, who manage the day-to-day operations together.

  • 300 acres
  • Mixed farm: Sheep, beef and arable
  • Cattle: 120 store cattle bought in and finished on-farm.
  • Sheep: 750 ewes, with approximately 550 turned to a terminal sire and 200 turned to a maternal sire for flock replacements.
  • Crops Grown: Spring and winter barley.
  • Additional Forage: Stubble turnips are grown to provide winter grazing for the ewe flock.

  • Improving clover persistence in pasture systems.
  • Enhancing the protein content of silage and grazed grass.
  • Reducing dependency on inorganic nitrogen fertilisers by optimising legume use.
